Anyone know any good storyboarding programs?

    Posted by Lepy - May 30th, 2012

    Hello, world!
I just recently formatted my HDD and I still haven't gotten Flash back on here. WHAT A LAZY PILE OF WHALE CUM.
Anyway, I've realized that pretty much anything I do can be decent as long as I put a bit of thought into it. Imagine if I actually tried to storyboard an animation...with several drafts and thoughts. That'd be insane.

Flash is good for animation, but there's gotta be better ways to storyboard than using Flash. I swear I've seen something from some sort of documentary that looked a bit like this picture here.

But anyway I'm working on a few things. It's Summer now, so it's all gonna be good.
Except probably not because I'm just that lazy.

Anyone know any good storyboarding programs?

    On a scale of 1 to 10, probably a 7.
I guess it looks pretty good. Might as well give it a shot.

Try this. Its pretty fast. And its freeware too.
    <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper</a>

    Downloading it now. Thanks!

What would a storyboard program do? I don't understand. Just draw some picutres and voila!, you got a storyboard. :>

    Organize said drawings.

For Mac, get a PC. But if you are stuck with Mac use:
    <a href="http://www.atomiclearning.com/download/StoryBoardOSX.zip">http://www.atomiclearning.com/download/StoryBo ardOSX.zip</a>
If you are awesome and don't use a Mac get it here:
    <a href="http://www.atomiclearning.com/download/StoryBoardPC.zip">http://www.atomiclearning.com/download/StoryBo ardPC.zip</a>

    It's free.

Just open up the zip file and scroll down a little bit until you find StoryBoardPro(.exe)

    print out layout boxes.
    draw in layout boxes.
    scan in.

    repeat.

Probably the best paper-based solution here.
The thing I don't like about paper is that I feel like it's messier than just drawing everything on a tablet. Software just seems like it'd be more organized than having sheets of paper.
And when you have to scan in the papers, it would be much easier to just use software at that point. Especially when my scanner's broken.

Not completely dissing your idea, but all I'm saying is that software would be easier. That's what computers are here for, anyway.

Thought I was going to be original by saying "PEN AND PAPPA LOL" but then it turns out most of NG are unoriginal bastards and stole me idea.

Whats wrong with good old fashioned paper? C'mooooooon! Your notebook feels lonely!

I'll just admit it. I'm really bad at pencil and paper. I know storyboards are just sketches, but I just make a giant mess of erased lines and ect.

    But i c wat u mean

This is what I use, and it might help. For this program, however, you have to actually draw the storyboards in another program and then put the pictures in here. But you can add notes and stuff and you can play the storyboard like an animation reel.
